Message of the Week: Judgment

Back from my long Cancer season vacation. Took a lot of needed rest, time in the sun and with loved ones as well as eating good. I will have an exciting announcement to come soon.

I'm kicking the weekly tarot card off again. This week, I am using the Dust II Onyx, A Melanated Tarot by Courtney Alexander. It really is one of my favorite decks ever. This card is speaking to the energy for this week to next Monday, 7/26/2021 to 8/2/21.

This week, I have pulled the major arcana card Judgment (XX). It is such a beautiful card. The first word I hear when seeing this card is discernment. How are you utilizing your discernment to judge the times to be focusing on yourself this week? How are you using your discernment to create useful boundaries this week? The butterfly on the chest calls to mind the blooming and growth you've experienced that took work to achieve. And the protection this bloom deserves to have. Beautiful and delicate, worthy of safe space. In that safe space, judgment should be used with love and care. It is easy to judge things, people, ideas. But when we do so, we don't consider how those same easy judgments can be made towards things in our lives and how that's hurtful. Use your intuition and discernment but know extreme and quick judgment of someone for differing lives and ideas that hurt no one is a reflection of fear, not knowledge. And fears are not wrong. But they tell us a lot about ourselves.

This week may be a great place to begin the work of some internal judgment. What are our fears? Who do we fear? Are these fears warranted? Where did they come from? I know personally, I've had to judge my own fears around getting what I want and why if not addressed, that fear could turn into self-sabotage. We all have areas of fear that need to be challenged. And this is a good week for that. Coming off the Aquarius full moon, we are in a space that desires truth-telling, creativity, breaking oppressive systems and innovation in understanding our ideas and feelings. Judgment as the card for this week confirms this is a time to walk in our truth, discern how we want to connect with others and utilize our judgment in a way that builds, not destroys.

On the Judgment card, the figure who stands tall above the crowds is someone standing in their truth. In their full self. Often, this is hard in crowds of people who may not be there yet. But it helps to focus more on what this means for us rather than those who are not able to do this. How can we show being our whole selves is liberating? By living our lives as aligned with our truths as possible. Regardless of what others may think. Or how they may judge. That walk isn't always easy, it isn't always welcomed, but it is a beacon. It shines a light and creates a path. Even if you aren't acknowledged or thanked for that. And even more importantly, it makes it so you can walk in your purpose, your ideals and with the people who support that in the most loving and healthy ways. What falls away creates space for new things that fit better. Even if it's difficult to adjust at first. You've got this. You don't have to start all at once. This card is saying there is space to consider how to proceed and begin taking a step. Even if it means a step back to see the bigger picture and get ideas on how to move forward. I believe in you!

Please feel free to use the questions in this reading for journal prompts, to bounce around or whatever way fits for you. Take a look at the card and think about what imagery draws you and what it says to your intuition. Share with others you think may find this helpful and/or enjoy this.
