About Me

I am a Black non-binary femme (she/they pronouns, but does not experience transmisogyny). I am a writer, conjurer and lover. I am passionate about my ancestors, my cats, and building intuitive practices. Currently, I reside in MA with my partner and 3 glorious fat cats.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from University of Massachusetts Lowell (2012) as well as a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Brandeis University (2014). I am halfway through an MS in Mental Health Counseling but left to pursue my dreams of providing these kinds of services. I have worked in the mental health field serving youth with trauma and mental illness for about a decade.

After building the confidence to leave my job and focus on my mental health, I began a journey of stillness. Rest became a central function in the work I have been doing to heal myself from trauma. I created this site as a space to share my intuitive gifts and facilitate intuitional healing for my clients and students.

What brought me to Tarot and Intuitional Healing?

I have been a practicing witch since childhood. At fourteen, I got my first tarot deck and I began to dabble in tarot for fun. I started taking the practice seriously at nineteen. In 2006, I found (with the assistance of my ancestors) and took a 16-week Intuitive Tarot course which I received a certificate for after meeting the educational goals set. I have been reading professionally and as community work since. For the last several years, I have taken on very few clients. This was so I could focus on my healing. Now, I am at a place where I feel confident to expand this work's accessibility to all.

My readings include advising and listening to clients without demonizing or stigmatizing what they bring to the space. Readings are here to help folks add clarity to what their intuition tells them. They may assist with figuring out solutions, self-care and/or simply planning the next steps. Tarot is a tool that allows us to tune into the messages of the Universe and our ancestors. I aim to deliver these messages with clarity, compassion and insight.

What Do I Believe?

Due to my own experiences in the mental health field as well as with my own mental health, I understand the importance of having someone you can trust to talk to. Someone who can empathize with these issues. Someone who does not treat you like a case study.

I am not a therapist. I am a spiritual advisor. However, my experiences and my trainings have shown me both require similar skillsets. I believe in taking a holistic approach to your overall health and wellness, including mental and spiritual health.

I believe when we are in tune with our intuition, we know the answers for our lives. This is why I call my site You Know the Answer. We may need more clarification on those answers and this is what the readings and classes are here to provide. I want this space to empower people to tap into their own intuition.

As a hoodoo practitioner, I lean into the practices of my ancestors deeply. They used their spiritual work for survival--but more than that—to create, to build sustainable joy and to quicken the destruction of ALL oppressive systems. My work is a continuation of those spiritual technologies. Intuitional healing and development are tools of spiritual and liberation work necessary for ourselves and our communities. When we tap into the spiritual technology of our ancestors, it brings us closer to the destruction of systems like anti-Blackness and capitalism.

More Info

I have been facilitating, conducting research and teaching since 2011. My first skillshare was when I taught a history of and how to twerk at the Allied Media Conference. I continued facilitating and attending workshops at AMC until 2016. At Brandeis University from 2012 and 2014—I facilitated workshops with luminaries like Dr. Kimberlee Crenshaw and Dr. Patricia Hill Collins. I assisted with the graduate student workshop at an Intersectionality Symposium with Dr. Crenshaw and I led the graduate student workshop with Dr. Collins titled “With my Mind Set on Freedom: Black feminism, Intersectionality, and Social Justice”.

As the sole content creator for Strugglingtobeheard on Tumblr, I birthed the Twerk for Mother’s Day action. I have recently joined the RECLAIM UGLY movement, which is a spiritual community action-based group. I taught an Intuitional Healing class at their Black Healing October event. I also taught and co-led two classes on Intuitive Tarot and Strengthening our Witchy Practices during 2020.

My writing can be found on RaceBaitR, Tumblr, “A Tumblr Book: Platforms and Cultures”, several of Dr. Moya Bailey’s published works, the Brandeis University Archives, the Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice, “Bodies of Information: Intersectional Feminist Digital Humanities” and the Center for Solutions to Online Violence.
